<div itemprop="description">With great sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Winnie Mae in her sleep in hospital. She is survived by Edward, her husband of nearly 66 years, and their children: Judy Weppler, Donna (John) Reid, Jim (Jacquie), Jan, Randy (Tracy), Laura (Paddy) Lamb; and her brother, Donald Hooker of Calgary. <br>She will also be missed by her many Great & Grand-children: Lindsay (Calvin; Rory, Clayton) Austrom; David (Alena; Jasper, Violet & Pascal) Weppler; Tara Reid; Amy (Tyler; Finn & Maya) McKinnon; Coleman Jackson, Angel (Graham; Eddie, Sorcha & Octavia) Weeks; Dan (Laura) MacKinnon; Chase (Ashley) Jackson; Cruz Jackson; Claire Lamb.<br><br>She was born to James and Winnifred Hooker in Drumheller, AB. Winnie excelled at the piano and at school, winning the Governor General Academic Medal in Grade 9. She also was the Valedictorian of her graduating class in 1950. <br><br>Ed and Winnie built a new home on an acreage in Sherwood Park in 1962 where, in 1976, they started Jackson Power & Electric, an oilfield service company out of their garage. They managed JPE until 2000 and it is still in the family. In 2014 they moved to Centre in the Park. <br><br>Winnie played often for family and friends, taught piano at home, and later at Clifford School of Music in Sherwood Park. The Jackson family began the ‘Winnifred Mae Jackson Endowment’ with the Royal Conservatory of Music for piano students and teachers.<br><br>Winnie and Ed were members of the Les Amies Dance Club and early members of the Seniors’ Skating Club in Sherwood Park for over twenty years. Winnie was pleased to have skated until she was 80!<br><br>Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice. For those who wish to pay their respects, a Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Glenwood Funeral Home (52356 Range Road 232, Sherwood Park). <br><br></div>
