<div itemprop="description">It is with saddened hearts that the family announces the brightest light in our lives gradually dimmed and flickered out at the Grey Nuns Hospital on August 1st, 2015.<br /><br />Ron was born in High Prairie, AB to Adolph &amp; Christine Nordin and was raised on the family farm in the Enilda area.<br /><br />After graduating from the High Prairie High School, Ron attended the Devry Institute of Technology in Toronto where he studied electronics and specialized in radio communications. <br /><br />He was part owner of E-D Electronics and when the business was sold, he continued in the radio communication field as a consultant to Westcan Communications until ill heath forced his retirement. Ron was very active in hockey coaching &amp; served on the Hockey League executive.<br /><br />Ron is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Gail (Broen), his pride &amp; joy, his children: Shawn, Shelley, Chris, grandchildren: Jonas &amp; Sami, his mother Christine, brother &amp; sisters: David, Colleen &amp; Dianne, nieces &amp; nephews, David, Dawn, Luciano, Eva, Reid, Mel, Jack, Annalise, Mitch &amp; Megan, as well as numerous extended family and friends.<br /><br />He was predeceased by his father Adolph in 1976.<br /><br />A celebration of Ron's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 10th, 2015 at Glenwood Funeral Home, 52356 Range Rd 232 (south of Wye Road), Sherwood Park, AB T8B 1K4.<br /><br />In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.<br /><br /></div>
