<div itemprop="description"> <p> It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, son and brother, Rodney Allan Shulha.&nbsp; On February 11, 2012, at home and with his family by his side, Rod lost his heroic and courageous battle with cancer.&nbsp; </p> <p> Rod will be forever missed by his wonderful wife Sandra and their children, son Ben and daughter Emily, of whom he was so proud.&nbsp;&nbsp; Also left to mourn his loss are his parents Rose and Allen, his sister Roxy (Doug McKay), his two special four legged friends Willie and Kacy-Mae, father-in-law Don Fleming, as well as numerous in-laws, relatives, dear friends and colleagues.&nbsp; He was predeceased by his mother-in-law Anne Fleming.&nbsp; </p> <p> Rod was a tremendous man with a smile that could light up your heart, a wonderful laugh and an amazing bear hug that would take your troubles away - he was easy to love and we were blessed to have him in our lives. </p> <p> The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of ward 5D3 at the UofA Hospital as well as Dr. Kim Anderson-Hill for their support.&nbsp; </p> <p> A celebration of Rod&rsquo;s life will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Evergreen Funeral Chapel, 16204 Fort Road, Edmonton with a reception to follow. </p> <p> Interment has taken place at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Sherwood Park. </p> <p> In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Second Chance Animal Rescue (SCARS) in memory of Rod's love for his animals. </p> <p> &nbsp; </p> </div>
