Peter Besuyen
May 18, 1943 - December 18, 2014
No words can describe the feelings a fisherman gets when reeling in the big one and suddenly the line snaps and the perfect one gets away. On Thursday, December 18, 2014 we had our big one get away from our family line. Peter Frank Besuyen passed away on December 18, 2014 in Edmonton at the age of 71.
Peter is remembered by his wife Josephine; daughter Jennifer (Alex); son Douglas (Rachelle); nephew Barry (Elaine); his three precious grandkids Emma, Carter and Kierra; as well as by his brothers John (Geri), Adrian (Kathy) and Hans; sister Lauraine (Garry), sister-in-law Ann, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
He was predeceased by his brother Frank and his parents Jackie and Peter Sr.
The family would like to thank the wonderful and compassionate staff of nursing unit 52 of the Grey Nuns hospital where Peter spent his last days.
In keeping with Peter’s wishes there will be no funeral. A celebration of his life will be held in the spring of 2015.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Peter’s name to the Heart and Stroke Society of Alberta, Heart and Stroke Foundation, 10985-124 Street, Edmonton, Alberta T5M 0H9.
Peter will always be in our hearts and we know he will be the first one to cast his line down upon us looking for the catch of the day.
