<div itemprop="description">Kay Ardell Burnham <br> <br>With sadness we announce that Dr. Kay A Burnham passed away peacefully at the age of 90, on October 1, 2016 with family by his side. <br> <br>Kay was born June 27, 1926 in Cardston, Alberta. He was the 10th and youngest child of Wallace and Amelia Burnham. He was endowed with a keen, inquisitive mind, an aptitude for all sports and a zest for life. <br> <br>Kay graduated from dentistry at the University of Alberta in 1949. He started his clinic in Bonnie Doon which became the Bonnie Doon Dental Associates, a group practice which at his retirement was the largest and longest enduring group practice in Canada (43 years). He provided services under general anesthetic for 48 years. Through the span of years he provided service to three generations of families. <br> <br>In addition to his professional career, Kay was head of the dental clinic at Royal Alexandra Hospital, the President of The Edmonton and District Dental Society, served on the Edmonton Taxi commission, and as a community basketball coach. In the LDS Church he served as a Bishop, Stake Presidency Counsellor, Patriarch, family history missionary service, and numerous other callings. <br> <br>Throughout his life Kay engaged in many sports, was an avid pilot, loved traveling the world, and continued to be a great learner of truth. A wonderful mentor to youth, he was also mindful of those in need, and many were blessed by his generosity. <br> <br>His greatest love was for his sweetheart Marie whom he married in the LDS Cardston Temple on July 12, 1949. Together they raised their family in an atmosphere of fun, service and of living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. <br> <br>Kay leaves to mourn his wife of 67 years, Marie, and four children: Barb (Kent) Scott of Orem, Utah, Bonnie (Alan) Maxwell of Orem, Robert (Colette) Burnham of Lacombe, and John (Sandy) Burnham of Edmonton. They have 28 grandchildren and 66 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers, five sisters and grandsons Brian Scott and Scott Burnham. He is survived by his sister Alma Fawns of Lethbridge. <br> <br>Special thanks to the Good Samaritan Zetter CHOICE program, and to his personal caregiver Cleafe Guardiana for their dedicated care to him during his illness. <br> <br>Viewing to be held Friday, October 7th, from 7:00-8:30pm at Glenwood Funeral Home - 52356 Range Rd 232, Sherwood Park, Alberta. <br> <br>Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 8th at 1:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Bearspaw Chapel: 1203 - 109 Street NW, Edmonton. www.glenwoodmemorial.com <br> <br></div>
