Gerry died at the University on April 6, 2017 at the age of 78.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen; his son Sean; granddaughter, Fayth; his brother James (Katherine) of England; sister, Vera (Terry) Butterly of Ireland; and brother, Brendan (Mary) of Ireland, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland and England.
A reception in celebration of Gerry's life will be held on Monday, April 17 at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home, South of Wye Road on Range Road 232, Sherwood Park. At Maureen's request, no black - please wear colorful clothing, and come prepared with a humorous story about Gerry.
In lieu of floral tributes, donations in memory of Gerry may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, or Prostate Cancer Research.
