It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the passing of Frank Gifford on February 7, 2016.

Frank will be lovingly remembered by his wife Daphne of 65 years, his daughters Vicki (George), Jane (Warren), Mary (Eric), and Liz (Randy). Grandchildren Melissa (Nick), Nathan, Randall, Britt (Elliot), Bryce (Jennelle), Alexe (Chris), Kirk (Ashley), Erik (Kenzie), Steve (Emma), Chad (Lauren), and Matt.

Especially proud and very fond of his great grandchildren Emmersyn, Peyton, Emma, Kinsley and Rylee.

Frank was born in Woolwich, London, England on September 15, 1924. He grew up through the Depression and was 15 when World War II was declared. Frank continued as an Engineering Student and Home Guard during the war years. He was a keen cyclist enjoying Road Time trails around the English countryside. On one occasion, during the Battle of Britain, he rested on a hillside and watched planes fighting overhead. Frank embraced his Engineering career with Imperial Oil and worked in the U.K., America and Canada.

Frank was extremely proud of his family. He kept up to date with grandchildren’s activities, travels and accomplishments. He followed their lives with genuine interest.

During retirement he was an avid golfer, spending many happy hours at Belvedere. He enjoyed travelling immensely and meeting up with lifelong friends, all over the world.

Frank had enthusiasm for life and everything he did. He was so proud of his British heritage.
We will all miss him so much.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Sherwood Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
